Are you dating? Are you the only one in this relationship working full time to keep the relationship alive? If so, resign from that job!
The other person must freely choose you! The other person must be permitted to relate to you at the level THEY are willing to relate. When that is insufficient for you, give up the relationship. Move on and seek a love freely given. Relationships kept alive only through manipulation, must be allowed to die!
If the other person is unwilling to respond to you in the way you need (and have made perfectly clear to them), let them go! Stop the manipulation and nagging! Why would you desire a relationship with someone who constantly must be reminded to love you? Why would you not much rather prefer a relationship with someone who willfully chooses you and loves you as you need to be loved?
Be content with what the other person is willing to offer in a relationship or end the relationship before it goes any farther! Relationships worth keeping are only those where love is freely offered and gratefully received.
God chooses to relate only to those who freely choose him. Should we do less?

Many Christians believe themselves to be the center of God’s universe. They have no problem asking God to bless or join them in their selfish pursuits. Little do they realize that God is perfectly happy in himself. He is about HIS business, not ours. And we should be about discovering him. Not asking him to join up with us!
In our most generous moments we are still mostly self-serving.
God is totally happy in himself. He needs none of us. He needs nothing from us. It is about his glory, not ours.
Glorifying him, we will find ourselves. Glorifying him, we will find ourselves happiest.
